CALL FOR ENTRY 2009

Dear Sculptor,

The City of St. George has become home to an incredible outdoor
sculpture show known as Art Around the Corner. In only its fifth
year, we have sold a record amount of art – over $300,000! Ten of the
pieces purchased remain on permanent display in historical downtown
St. George.

This prestigious show hosts a variety of works from nationally known
artists. All sculptures are exhibited for one year and are for sale.
Thousands of brochures are distributed and over 400,000 people view
the exhibit annually. Press coverage has been high with articles published
both locally and nationally.

We invite you to submit your artwork to be considered for our yearlong
public exhibit. Installation will be on Saturday, March 28th, 2009.
All participating artists are provided one free hotel room on Friday,
March 27th. A reception for the artists will be held that evening prior
to Saturday’s installation. Art patrons and prominent community
members attend to meet the artists.

Art Around the Corner is a public project; all proposed works are
screened to ensure durability and artistic merit prior to acceptance.
Fragile, dangerous or inappropriate works will not be accepted. There
are multiple spaces available for the rotating display and pieces will be
selected based on artistic merit and appropriateness for public art.
