Blue Heron Through the agesInquire about this piece
“Blue Heron Through the ages” was inspired by a petroglyph that is in petrified forest national monument. It depicts a pair of herons one of which is eating a frog. Jim took this glyph and replicated the scene three times in styles representative of different periods of time. Prehistoric, impressionistic and abstract expressionist using the monumental Garden bell that he has become recognized for as the format. Jim’s intention with bells is to combine western and Asian aesthetics while creating works of art that are also interactive. They ring with a deep resonate tone and are designed to withstand extremes of use and weather.
