Jane Mankey studied art and literature abroad before attending California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, earning a B.A. in Elementary Education, and then Life Teaching, K-9 Teaching, and Community College Teaching Credentials. Her 30+ years of leading elementary, secondary, and community college classes included a broad range of art and music courses, as well as full-time core subjects. She was also a church music director; where her husband Neal and their four children shared their musical talents as well.
Following the Mankeys’ move from California to St. George in 2014, Jane began co-directing, then directing the New Horizons Band for adults 40+, run in partnership with Dixie State University’s music department. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern Utah Wine Guild, which supports local arts and educational programs; she is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Docutah International Documentary Film Festival; she gives private music lessons; and takes on interior decorating jobs. Creative outlets are Jane’s lifelong passion.
