Marcia Robinson-Rouse

As a young woman, Marcia first expressed her creativity through drawing and watercolor painting. Her path as a sculptor began in 1996 when a friend introduced her to the art of stone carving. Two years later, she deepened her practice by participating in an intensive marble carving workshop in Pietrasanta, Italy, studying with a master stone carver.

Marcia’s work is guided by an intuitive connection with each piece, allowing the process and the sculpture itself to inform its final form. Her sculptures explore the essence of the feminine, created with the intention of bringing joy, inspiration, peace, and healing to those who encounter them. While she continues to work in stone and bronze, much of her recent work is created using paper porcelain clay or fiber-infused clay. For public art installations, she currently works with Pal Tiya, a fiber-reinforced cement material that provides additional strength and durability.

Marcia has exhibited in shows and galleries throughout the United States, including six consecutive years in the prestigious Loveland Sculpture in the Park show in Colorado. Her public art commissions include two life-size angel sculptures installed at hospitals in Boulder, Colorado, and St. George, Utah, as well as a sculpture at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
