The sculpture is hand-carved, with machines used for polishing & finishing. Georgia O’Keefe, the famous American artist, is the inspiration for the work. The curved shape on one side is inspired by her famous skull painting, and is evident on all 12 sculptures completed in the series so far. The other side is inspired by her 1930 painting, “Jack-in-the-Pulpit 3.”

Meet the Artist
Patrick Sullivan
I was born in British Columbia, Canada, but now reside in Pine Valley, Utah. I’ve completed more than 20 public sculptures in stone in three countries and hundreds of sculptures for galleries and clients. My creations show a variety in style, depth, and form as I combine the earth quality of the stone with my personal vision. I would describe my art as lyrical symbolism; the power is in the stone.

These stone sculptures honor the great American painter, Georgia O’Keefe. They are a continuation of my Georgia O’Keefe series, each sculpture using one of her paintings for inspiration. A skull design is featured on one side of each piece. O’Keefe 6 honors the painting “Radiator Building – Night, New York, 1927,” while O’Keefe 7 honors the painting “Single Lily With Red, 1928.”
