About 12 years ago, my wife Stephanie and I were heading north out of Phoenix on the Interstate. About 30 miles out, we witnessed a large Golden Eagle swooping across the highway with a large snake in its talons. It was quite an unforgettable sight! And it became the inspiration for this piece.

Meet the Artist

Thad Tuin

I have been sculpting for forty years. Most of the sculptures that I have completed over the past fifteen years have been primarily for public placement, along with privately commissioned pieces. Almost all of the steel I use is reclaimed, and I see myself as an industrial abstract artist.
